Resurrected in 2007 following a dormant period from 1983,
the Blackbuoy Swim dates back to 1907.
The race is approximately 1225 metres (a Bridport Mile), swimming out to a
marker buoy and back, from a standing start on the beach.
Entrants must be competent sea swimmers and should be residents of
Bridport and surrounding areas.
Minimum age - 14 years old.
The Delapre Race is for less experienced swimmers and covers a shorter distance.
Organised by the Bridport based Barracudas Swimming Club, the winners' cups
are provided by the Bridport Swimming Club.
Entry forms are available from Bridport Leisure Centre
and Bridport Tourist Information Centre.
