02 Beaminster Christmas Festival 2011 The Square, Beaminster. Father Christmas will be leading the parade from Beaminster Fire Station at 5.45pm through the town to The Square. 26 West Bay Wallow – A Boxing Day Swim East Beach, West Bay, Bridport, 12 noon. Annual charity fancy dress swim off East Beach, this year organised by Bridport Round Table. Public collection for Round Table local charities, but swimmers can be sponsored for their own favourite charity. The mayor will judge the fancy dress and send the swimmers off. 01 New Year Duck Race Lyme Regis A New Year’s Day tradition – watch the ducks race down the river Lym, starting at 12 noon. Raising money for the town’s Christmas lights.
01 Annual Lyme Lunge Sandy beach area, Lyme Regis. A fancy dress dip in the balmy waters of Lyme Bay, 1pm at the Cobb Beach, all for charity. This year the charities supported are the RNLI and ShelterBox. All welcome, whether “dipping” or watching and contributing to the charity collection. Prize for the best fancy dress.
