Coastal Walks
The Jurassic Coast World Heritage Site extends
from Old Harry Rocks at Studland Bay in Dorset to Orcombe Rocks/Point near
Exmouth in East Devon, a distance of 95 miles.
The Heritage Coast includes Exmouth to Seaton in east Devon (The
Triassic Coast), Lyme Regis to Portland Isle in west Dorset (The Jurassic
Coast) and Weymouth to Studland (The Jurassic and Cretaceous Coast).
West Bay forms a convenient central location close to some beautiful
vantage viewpoints, including Golden Cap, the highest point along the
Southern Coast of England. This
coastal stretch also forms part of the South West CoastPath. Much
of the West Dorset coast and countryside has been designated as an Area of
Outstanding Natural Beauty.
Deep Sea Diving
Known locally as 'The Bay of a Thousand Wrecks', boats in
the harbour can take you out to many shipwrecks in the bay.

Paragliding
Crabbing in the Harbour
A great pastime for children and adults alike.
Tie a small piece of meat on a string and drop to the bottom.
After a while, pull up the string and you could have crabs firmly
latched to your bait. Careful
that you don’t get your ‘fingers nipped’ when you take them off!
All The Fun Of The Fair
A small Fun Fair visits West Bay during the school summer holiday period.
Golf
There is an 18-hole golf course up on the east cliff of
West Bay just waiting to be challenged.
Sea Fishing / Angling
For the sea fishing enthusiasts, boats in the harbour can take you out to good
fishing areas in the bay.
