Pack your picnic blanket and head for Bridport as the Jurassic Coast market town rolls out the bunting in celebration of the eighth Bridport Food Festival. A week packed with foodie treats including food film screenings at the Electric Palace Cinema, live music in Bridport’s community orchard and a food & drink lovers Question Time at the Bull Hotel with special guests. The festival culminates with a carnival atmosphere at the town’s Askers Meadows on Saturday June 18 th. 16 Thanks Giving In Lyme Regis Parliament decreed at the end of the English Civil War that there should be a day of celebration and prayer in Lyme to commemorate the end of the unsuccessful siege of Lyme by the Royalist Forces. It was one of the longest sieges of the Civil War. In Lyme we will carry on the tradition by dressing in clothes of the period and parading through the streets. Join us in our celebration. Organised by Lyme Regis Regatta and Carnival Committee.
