TOWN WALKS
Bridport Every Thursday at 2.30pm from the Tourist Information Centre,
South Street. Discover the
footpaths and alleys of this fascinating Saxon town and what it means to
be stabbed by the Bridport Dagger.
Dorchester Every Tuesday at 11am from the Tourist Information Centre,
Antelope Walk. Explore the County Town and uncover its past from
Judge Jeffreys’ Bloody Assize to Thomas Hardy’s Casterbridge and the
Roman occupation. Also guided walk with Christine McGee every Monday at
11am - meet at Dorchester TIC.
Sherborne Every Friday at 11am from the Tourist Information
Centre, Digby Road. Gain an amazing insight into this historic
mediaeval town and explore the courts of Sherborne School, the setting
of three major films

05/08 - 04/11 Dorset Feather Stitchery: Bringing Colour
To The 1950's Dorset County Museum, High West Street,
Dorchester, closed Sundays. This nostalgic exhibition looks back to
the 1950's, when a devoted group of WI members developed a popular new
style of embroidery. The colourful innovation of Dorset Feather
Stitchery did much to brighten the post-war austerity years.
